11 Astonishing Experiences to try out on your next to Ladakh

Leh Ladakh

Introduction

The bike trip to Ladakh is a dream of literally every passionate traveler and even for the ones who don’t love to travel. Not just Indians, I have even personally met and been in contact with some passionate bikers who actually aren’t from India but still came from countries like Germany, Bangladesh, Poland, Sweden just to enjoy the unreal beauty of the valley.

Ladakh

Definitely Ladakh is famous for amazing bike rides, but there are so many other things in Ladakh which one can experience only after traveling to Ladakh. Trust me these underrated things are the ones which make the entire trip much much more memorable. Here are a few reasons which you’ll observe on your next trip to Ladakh.

Reasons to visit Ladakh

Definitely the unreal, mesmerizing landscapes

Obviously, this has to be the main reason to travel here. Every curve you find a lovely landscape, every turn brings an entirely new world. Spectacular pieces of land on earth make it very interesting.

Gorgeous Lakes

Need not mention, the water body reflects the color of the blue sky making it shine like a blue diamond. Not just Pangong, there are countless other lovely lakes to visit as well. The winters are very special when these lakes freeze making it a much more amazing site.

War Memorials, Army Movement

As the eastern border of Ladakh is entirely surrounded by Tibet, Indian Armed Forces have been deployed in a huge number. One can visit many war memorials, meet our soldiers during your visit. You wouldn’t get a much better opportunity to have a chat with them who are fighting so hard with the weather to keep us safe.

High Altitude Passes

Yes, Khardung La, Umling La, the ascent, the altitude, the AMS and what not. It would be a dream of every biker to conquer these peaks with their loved machines. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience.

The humble, polite, friendly localites

The crime, theft rate is almost zero. The people are very friendly to the tourists and are very welcoming. They literally treat you like their own family member.

“Home”-stay experience

This is actually what we call a homestay. In many remote areas, the hotels are lesser in number and usually their homes have some extra rooms, which guests can occupy and they’d provide the food as well.

Sky looks much prettier

If you love star-gazing, Ladakh is the ultimate destination. The night sky with the naked eyes is spectacular. I bet no camera can catch such an amazing sight. It’s a real feast to watch such lovely stars and patterns in the sky.

Far away from the noise

Just imagine riding on a long empty highway, the mountains on both the sides, rivers flowing beside, best of the best landscapes ahead. The soothing experience after living in a harsh crowded place is worth experiencing.

Spending time with the fellow travelers

This is again one of the best parts of traveling. You meet lots of passionate travelers, spend time, share knowledge, make memories, take pictures. Things like these make our lives worth living.

Monasteries in every village

This is one special interesting thing I observed in Sikkim, Spiti, Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh. Almost all villages have a beautiful monastery and are usually located on the top of the hill. Spending some time in such a place would be an amazing experience.

Memorable in Flight Journey

The flight from Delhi to Leh should be the best experience I’ve ever had. Flying through the Ladakh valley with spectacular snow covered mountains, blue lakes and rivers, amazing land pattern is just treat for our eyes.(Read my blog here)
